Any of my followers geocachers? Me and michelle are planning a geocache adventure. There’s one in my college somewhere! Totally getting into this.
My cousin and her kids had a lot of fun doing this over the Summer for an indigenous youth camp. They’ve made an effort to keep checking on their caches all over the city. :)
The Anishinaabe language table that I go to weekly with nii-bish-hopya and frybreadqueen makes me realize how much I yearn for a chance to learn Blackfoot with other Blackfoot, speak it, listen to it. Cuz most of the learning I do is at home, with a Blackfoot dictionary a friend from Alberta found for me, and the Red Crow College’s online tools.
If I could go back in time I wouldn’t skimp out on the Blackfoot lessons/language tables at the University of Montana. They’re gone now cuz of funding cuts.
<3333333333333 I really feel you. I’ve been learning here and there on my own for years, but there’s something really comforting about hearing people speaking in my language around me and to me. It would be amazing if you could go to one of the immersion camps in the Summer or maybe take a Summer course in Alberta. I should ask my friend if he knows of any upcoming ones!
